From the recording The Castle & Other Songs About Murder
Lyrics
Jackie was a teenage run away
on the run without a friend
I'm afraid I'm here to tell you
how little Jackie met her end
he grinned so friendly as she took his hand
and he helped her climb into the cab...
He had a big old 18 wheeler
parked at the truck-stop she was at
he seemed so nice, kind of like her uncle
but she just didn't know the facts
he said I'm heading west down 80
and I could use some company...
a couple hundred miles later
he pulled the truck off the main road
Jackie was dozing and didn't notice
until she woke up feeling cold
his eyes they glinted as his big hands fumbled
and he pinned her to the seat...
she pleaded for her life it didn't matter
when he was done she'd have to go
Jackie was fated now to take her place
and join his maids all in a row
and now she lies with his other victims
and hears the highway hum and moan...
